I interpret the entire routine of creating my art as charmingly ritualistic. All of the hundreds, if not thousands, of dissatisfying pieces and whimsical love affairs of art I've had the courage to create were never in vain. Every inkling of inspiration I've sat with led to an idea, to planning, the process and progress, the paint on every surface, tidying the mess, sipping a cup of tea, the intimate act of being shared with you right here as you read this, the sense of community when it is laid on a wall or table for the world to see, to finally fulfill it's purpose of delivering delight. Every thoughtful moment of the process is so intrinsically intertwined it's excitedly peculiar to me, because what are the odds?
Like biting into a juicy ripe mango on a beach, I imagine the process of creation to completion, to be of such sweet nature. The art of savouring life itself; habitual acts of enrichment that excite the sweet spot in our mind, body and soul, is a paean to the understanding that life CAN be sweetened through practice, these visual rhythms shape the harmony of my art style, I call:
Mango Rituals.
To you, curious soul, I am grateful for giving my ideas all we can ask of each other, the opportunity to exist in the space to be appreciated.
Here I invite you to indulge.
